Atenolol

Beta Blockers (Cardiovascular Preparations)



Indication:

Hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmia, myocardial infarction.
• Treatment of angina pectoris due to coronary atherosclerosis
• Hypertension, as step 1 agent, alone or with diuretics
• Prophylaxis of Migraine


Dosage & Administration:

Cardinol® 50 mg once daily, can be raised to 100-200 mg.
• 50-100 mg daily given as single or divided doses Maxdose: 200 mg/day.
• 25-100 mg daily as a single dose, depending on response. Takes 1-2 weeks for full effect to be observed; doses>100 mg are unlikely to produce any further benefit.
• 50-100 mg daily


Preparation:

Cardinol® 25 tablet: Box containing 30 x 5 tablets in blister pack.
Cardinol® 50 tablet: Box containing 30 x 5 tablets in blister pack.
Cardinol® 100 tablet: Box containing 30 x 5 tablets in blister pack.
